دربارهٔ کتاب

The Java Web Services Tutorial is a beginner's guide to developing Web services and Web applications using the Java Web Services Developer Pack (Java WSDP). The Java WSDP is an all-in-one download containing key technologies (Java Servlets, JSP, JSTL, Java XML pack) to simplify building of Web services using the Java 2 Platform. The book's content and layout follows in the tradition of other Java Series Tutorials. The market for information on Web services is huge. This is the future of computing on the web, the backoffice and all technology areas. An ideal combination, XML and the Java platform have come to play a central role in Web services. In fact, the advantages offered by the Java APIs for XML and the J2EE platform make the two technologies extremely well-suited for deploying Web services. This book explains how to get your Web services deployments built, running and tuned. Everything you need to know to make the most of Java "TM" Web Services!-- Beginner's guide to developing Web services and Web applications using the Java "TM" Web Services Developer Pack (Java WSDP).-- Follows the same approach and format that made The Java "TM" Tutorial a worldwide best-seller!-- CD-ROM includes a Web Services Tutorial and the Web Services Pack from Sun Microsystems.Following in the successful tradition of previous Java Series Tutorials, The Java "TM" Web Services Tutorial offers an essential, example-driven resource for every programmer interested in developing and deploying web services and web applications with the Java WSDP. The authors - senior documentation specialists at Sun - offer a concise, all-in-one guide covering the key technologies for building Web services using the Java 2 Platform. They provide practical techniques and examples for working with Java "TM" Servlets, JSP "TM," JSTL and the Java XML Pack to get programmers up to speed. This tutorial is packed with practical examples to reinforce key concepts. Both the tutorial and Sun Microsystems' Web Services Pack are included on the accompanying CD-ROM The Java Web Services Tutorial is a comprehensive, example-driven, "roll up your sleeves and dive in" guide to building Web services applications with Java technology. This edition provides a head start on using the Java Web Services Developer Pack (WSDP) from Sun Microsystems. This complete, ready-to-use package includes a variety of technologies and tools required to build and deploy comprehensive Web services applications today.Web services offer powerful new ways for enterprises to effectively communicate with each other using diverse computing hardware. This paradigm takes the Java platform's "Write Once, Run Anywhere" capabilities to a new level by providing a completely portable data model. By supporting the latest standards for XML-based Web services, the Java APIs for XML make it easy to build Web services with minimal hand tweaking of data. This tutorial explains these APIs in detail and provides practical examples to reinforce your understanding of key concepts. I bought the EA1 edition through Foyles bookstore. Unfortunately the EA1 edition is massively out of sync with the current FCS version of the software, and the Cd didn't contain the examples (or at least not where the book said they were). So I ended up downloading the examples. The build.xml files in the download are laughably different from the book, and several steps need to be taken which the book mentions nothing of. It's a major shame since the book looked very good. But I completely wasted my £38 and have wound up using the (confusing) online tutorial. Apparently a FCS version of the book is coming out in several months. Wait for it. Assuming that they haven't changed version yet again it should be a good book. Right now it is a waste of money. A beginner's guide to developing web services and web applications using the Java web services developer pack. This complete, ready to use package includes a variety of technologies and tools required to build and deploy comprehensive Web services applications today. Softcover. CD-ROM included.
