The Incident

Chase Barnes takes his first case as a private investigator to the dark streets of a North Jersey inner-city when Esteban Machado, a teen-aged boy with special needs, goes missing. Chase Barnes is hell-bent on bringing the boy home safely. As Chase Barnes kickstart his search, he uncovers a highly sophisticated drug ring that might cost him more than the life of a thirteen-year-old boy. The further Chase Barnes dives down the rabbit hole, the more he has to grapple with his deepest secrets. Difficult choices must be made, including whether or not solving this case is worth sacrificing the truth. However, the second more teen-aged boys go missing, Chase Barnes comes to grips with the fact that saving others will make up for his ungodly sins. He can finally begin to make peace with his secrets. Can Chase Barnes gain control of his inner demons in time to save the boys and bring the kidnappers to justice?
