The only thing Dakota Quinn has known thus far is survival. After a tragic accident that left only she and her brother behind, it feels as if they’ve never stopped running. And for the first seventeen years of her life, they’ve managed to make it work. Until one small slip-up causes their cover to be blown, landing Dakota on a one-way trip to California. Finley Brown—an eccentric girl with an unthinkable past; Gia Dawson—an outspoken rebel who’s landed herself on probation; and Ryland Moreno—the foster kid raised by the system, disabled after an accident that tore her from her previous home. Paired with a hardened exterior and a unfamiliar magnetism, Ryland quickly catches Dakota’s attention—whose curiosity always seems to get the best of her. However, they can only run from their pasts for so long, and whether it shows up on the front doorstep or haunts them in nightmares, all four girls are forced to face the events that have brought them together in the first place. Despite their differences, they find themselves relying on each other in more ways than one. And for Dakota, there’s something different about Ryland. After running for as long as she can remember, she’s suddenly met with a pair of brown eyes that ground her, pulling her in like the tide.
